I'm new here

Who we are

We are a group of very ordinary people from a wide variety of backgrounds whose lives have been transformed by a relationship with the living God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We’re far from perfect, but we have received true forgiveness in the Lord Jesus Christ and the joy that only comes from knowing God.

We’ve been here a while

Knock church was formed in 1927 and the following year we built a temporary church at our current location. That building lasted until 2014 when we had to finally take it down and build again. Since 2015 we’ve enjoyed meeting in a new church building.

Why we’re here

Our hearts’ desire is that our neighbours come to know God for themselves and that together we may grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our mission is to build up God’s people through God’s Word and prayer and through fellowship with one another.

What we do

We meet for public worship on Sundays, where the main focus is the preaching of God’s Word. We meet for Bible study and prayer on Wednesdays. We also have several children’s works on over the weekend as well as various other ministries like the ladies’ Bible study and men’s breakfast.

What we believe

We believe that the Bible is God’s living and active Word and see it as central to all we do and believe. We are a Reformed, Evangelical and Presbyterian church, standing in line with historic and orthodox Christianity as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

Our message

Our message is the message of Jesus who said, “Repent and believe in the Gospel.” The Gospel is the Good News that you can know and enjoy God forever.

God, our Creator, is good and holy and just but we are sinners. Naturally we don’t want to “do church” or “do God.” Left to our own devices we most often seek to live without Him. This way of living ends in the disaster of death and judgement because God will not allow us to keep on sinning against Him forever.

The Gospel is that God has made a way for sinners to be forgiven and be reconciled to Himself. Jesus came and died in our place on the cross; there He took the death and judgement of all who would believe in Him. If you put your trust in Jesus as your Saviour (repent and believe) not only are you saved from judgement, but you become a “new creation”, a “child of God.” And so begins a whole new life with God.

Our invitation

You are warmly invited to visit us on Sundays at 11:30am and 6.30pm or at any of our other services.
